CBS Autism offers child-centered, research supported behavioral interventions for young children with autism and related disabilities. We believe children have a right to an intervention designed to meet their needs and learning styles, an intervention that fits their family and school life. Intervention plans are created to assist children in reaching their maximum potential as active participants in their families, schools, and communities.
Methodologies
CBS Autism conducts thorough assessments to determine current skill levels and needs for intervention. Parent interviews and record reviews are also used in determining intervention goals. Parental involvement is required. Collaboration with current therapists and teachers is also a key part in intervention success.
For home-based programs and direct intervention, strategies from applied behavior analysis are used to implement the intervention and address goals and objectives. This includes techniques such as natural environment teaching, errorless teaching, incidental teaching, task analysis and discrete trial training. CBS Autism places a strong emphasis on social and language development.
Intervention techniques and methodolgies are selected based on each child's learning style and the best fit for their family and schools structure.
Functional behavior assessments are conducted to address maladaptive behaviors in the home and school.
All intervention is data driven and research supported.
